      Jesse Carrington, BCBA

      Managing Behavior Analyst

Jesse Carrington has known he wanted to work in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) since transitioning from elementary education, where he worked in early childhood special education classrooms. He has a master’s in special education and ABA from Oakland University and a bachelor’s of science in psychology from Western Michigan University. Jesse is a licensed behavior analyst — a clinician that’s a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) — at Total Spectrum and has been working in the field since 2012.

      Melissa Furman, MA, BCBA, LBA

      Clinical Director

“Nothing excites me more than continuing to provide the highest quality of care and support to each and every family we serve in this community. Receiving phone calls and text messages from families sharing progress at home and at school gives me the greatest sense of satisfaction.”

Melissa Furman works as the clinical director for Total Spectrum in West Michigan. Her interest in behavior analysis started in an introductory ABA class at James Madison University, where she attended college and graduate school. After this course, Melissa took a position as a graduate assistant at the Inter-Professional Autism Clinic and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy Clinic, where her passion for working with children with disabilities continued to blossom. She went on to earn a master’s degree in psychological sciences, with a concentration in behavior analysis. Before joining Total Spectrum, she worked as a behavior analyst in Palm Springs, California, for LEARN Behavioral’s Autism Spectrum Therapies (AST). She currently lives with her husband and two cats in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
